Uganda MOC

Uganda is East Africa's largest coffee producer and Africa's leading Robusta exporter, with Coffea canephora genuinely native to the Lake Victoria basin — making Uganda unique among major producing nations in that its primary commercial species is indigenous rather than introduced. The country grows approximately 80% Robusta and 20% Arabica, with the Arabica concentrated in the highland zones of Mount Elgon (Bugisu) in the east and the Rwenzori Mountains in the west. Uganda leads the global Fine Robusta movement, pioneering quality protocols and premium positioning for a species long associated only with commercial and instant coffee. This MOC navigates the country data file and the four principal growing region articles.
