Overview¶
Transparency standards in specialty coffee refer to the practice of disclosing sourcing information — including producer names, farm locations, processing methods, and the prices paid — to wholesale customers and consumers. Counter Culture Coffee's annual Transparency Report, first published in 2009, is the most widely cited example of full price transparency in the industry, and its model has been adopted and adapted by roasters internationally as a tool for demonstrating ethical sourcing commitments.
