Overview¶
Producer training programmes in specialty coffee provide farmers and cooperatives with technical knowledge to improve green coffee quality. Curriculum typically covers selective cherry harvesting, fermentation management, drying protocols, moisture measurement, and basic cupping skills that allow producers to evaluate their own lots. Programmes are delivered by importers and roasters as part of direct trade relationships, by NGOs, by World Coffee Research, and by organisations such as the CQI through its Q Processing Grader certification — all with the shared goal of closing the information gap between farm practice and the quality standards demanded by specialty buyers.
