Overview¶
Origin trip programmes are structured arrangements by which roasters, importers, or training organisations facilitate visits to coffee-producing farms and cooperatives for their staff, competition winners, or customers. These trips build the direct relationships that underpin the direct trade model and provide experiential context for the origin stories told on packaging and menus — see also Origin Trips. They are widely regarded as one of the most effective mechanisms for building genuine producer-buyer understanding and long-term sourcing commitments.
