Overview

Green coffee storage conditions significantly affect quality over time; optimal storage requires consistent temperature (15–25°C), relative humidity (50–65%), absence of strong odours (green coffee readily absorbs ambient smells), and breathable packaging such as GrainPro or jute bags. Well-stored green coffee can maintain quality for 12–24 months, while poor conditions accelerate staling, fading of acidity, and development of woody or papery cup notes. Proper green storage is a critical but often undervalued stage in the specialty coffee supply chain, bridging the gap between origin processing and the roastery.
