Overview

The World Brewers Cup was founded in 2011 in Maastricht, Netherlands, to create an international competition platform for manual (non-espresso) brewing. The inaugural champion was Anette Moldvaer of Norway, and the competition has since produced globally influential breakthroughs including Tetsu Kasuya's 4:6 Method in 2016, demonstrating that filter brewing is a discipline as technically and creatively demanding as espresso.
